Description: CULTURAL RESOURCES PROGRAM MANAGER (PTA) - ID# 29510 Regular, F/T position w/ the Pacific Cooperative Studies Unit performing project tasks at Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA) on the Island of HI.
Duties: Responsible for the program, planning, scheduling & budget. Prioritize & implement actions required in the programmatic agreements for the Transformation of the 2nd Brigade to a Stryker Brigade Combat Team, the Integrated Cultural Resources Mgmt Plan actions for PTA & those contained in the PTA Cultural Resource Program Scope of Work. Familiarizes w/ installation plans, undertakings & cultural studies & inventories.
Requires: Master's in Archaeology or Anthropology or Bachelor's in Archaeology or Anthropology & 5+ yrs field exper. 3-5 yrs exper in surveying, monitoring &/or managing cultural resources. 1-3 yrs exper as a Field Supervisor in an Archaeological project, including project write-up.
Knowl & understanding of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966. Knowl of Polynesian archaeology & cultural history. Use altimeter, compass, maps & GPS & Arcview/GIS. Computer literate in word processing, database & spreadsheet prog. Possess valid driver's license. Possess First Aid/CPR certifications (or obtain the certificate w/in 3 mo of hire). Work under strenuous & extreme conditions & hike up to 10 mi per day w/backpack weighing 40 lbs & camp in remote & rugged areas for several days. Backpacking field trips of several hrs over rough terrain at elevations of 5,000-8,000 ft.
