Incógnita Incógnita (Énigme), c'est le nom que nous avons donné à l'effigie qui préside et veille sur le site Arqueología Ecuatoriana, depuis toutes les fenêtres. Son origine est anecdotique, comme presque tout d'ailleurs dans la pratique archéologique équatorienne. Il s'agit d'une pièce unique, sans contexte connu, tombée entre nos mains de façon très paradoxale.

The challenge?
Helping our communities stay safely on the move. Our Archaeologist/Cultural Resources Specialist professionals assist in the execution and delivery of cultural resource management projects, including development or maintenance of client, agency, and Native American relationships; management of budgets and schedules; leading diverse project teams; planning cultural resource compliance projects; writing cultural resources discipline reports; and preparing proposals. Projects can be multi-disciplinary involving cultural resources management, prehistoric and historical archeology, history, historical architecture, or traditional cultural properties. Each day you will lead projects involving inventory, evaluation, and mitigation that may include conducting archival, background, and technical research; field surveys and excavations; laboratory work; data analysis; and writing reports. Field work will occur primarily in the states of Washington, Oregon, California, an d Idaho with limited work in other surrounding states.

You should be a self-motivated professional with an M.A. or M.S. in Cultural Resources Management, Archaeology, Anthropology or closely related field, and 5+ years of relevant experience. You must possess excellent writing skills and project management skills. Your effective interpersonal and communication skills, and willingness to travel and work under varied weather conditions will be the perfect fit!. Must possess valid drivers license as well as a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each archaeology opportunity.

Our Archaeologists:

  • Have progressive experience, preferably in a consulting environment and in historic archaeology
  • Have planning work history and/or involvement with public agencies in Washington, Oregon, California, and/or Idaho including cultural resources management
  • Meet the U.S. Secretary of the Interior's (SOI) Standards for archaeology and qualify as a Registered Professional Archaeologist, or the SOI's qualifications for historian or architectural historian
  • Have the ability to demonstrate knowledge of, and experience with, project compliance-related activities including consultation, quality assurance and review
  • Have a background in leading research, survey and excavation fieldwork, analysis, archival, and laboratory research activities
  • Are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Have working knowledge of federal and state cultural resources regulatory compliance
  • Are willing to travel and work under varied weather conditions Basic Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, History or related field
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in cultural resource projects
