Description:
The department of anthropology at Connecticut College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor level in achaeology, appointment effective July 1, 2010. The successful candidate will have a record and vision of research and teaching in historical archaeology in North America. Furthermore, we will consider candidates who: value and encourage research and teaching across the sub-disciplines of anthropology; have conducted research into issues of power, inequality, and structural violence among communities with a legacy of subordination; and will contribute to interdepartmental programs on campus such as American Studies and the Center for the Comparative Study of Race and Ethnicity.

Candidates already holding faculty positions, as well as others having a Ph.D. in hand before June 2010, are welcome to apply. Review of applications will begin Oct 15, 2009. Preliminary interviews will be held at the AAA meeting in Philadelphia in early December.
