Incógnita

Incógnita Incógnita (Énigme), c'est le nom que nous avons donné à l'effigie qui préside et veille sur le site Arqueología Ecuatoriana, depuis toutes les fenêtres. Son origine est anecdotique, comme presque tout d'ailleurs dans la pratique archéologique équatorienne. Il s'agit d'une pièce unique, sans contexte connu, tombée entre nos mains de façon très paradoxale.

The Department of Anthropology and Archaeology at Dickinson College invites applications for the position of visiting assistant professor of archaeology for the 2015-16 academic year. We seek an anthropological archaeologist whose teaching and research focus on food production and/or environmental archaeology in South America. Ph.D. or ABD required. Teaching responsibilities will be five courses: an introduction to world prehistory course each semester; one course each semester in area of specialization; and an advanced undergraduate course on archaeological theory.

Dickinson College is a highly selective four-year, independent liberal arts college with 2300 students. Located 20 minutes west of Harrisburg, PA, it is a two-hour drive from Baltimore, Washington DC, and Philadelphia and three hours from New York City. The Department of Anthropology and Archaeology has 22 undergraduate anthropology majors and 32 majors in archaeology. Our seven full-time faculty in cultural anthropology, biological anthropology, and archaeology conduct research in North America, South America, East Asia, East Africa, and the Mediterranean. We emphasize student research through our methods courses, our three laboratories—biological anthropology, environmental archaeology, and classical archaeology—and department-run field schools in cultural anthropology and archaeology.
